Spanish (Latin America) into English (US) Music Lyrics Translator

Are you passionate about music and skilled in translation? We are currently seeking several music lyric translators from Spanish (Latin America) to English(US) to join Welocalize.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to enhance the user experience of one of the largest music platforms by providing targeted translations for the most popular music lyrics.

Main Duties

• Localization of the lyrics, go beyond simple word-for-word translation, into cultural adaptation
• The artist intent and overall look-and-feel of the songs should be maintained in creative ways
• Assure the high-level quality of the meaning of the song, the linguistic precision (spelling, grammar) as well as the fluidity of the translation (idioms, slang, tone, references, punctuations)
• Expected capacity per week: 20hr

Requirements

• Owns MacBook Air/Pro that can be used for this project
• Native-level fluency in target language
• Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written)
• Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience
• Have deep understanding of music and cultural context
• Strong research skills
• Detail-oriented
• Plus to have good knowledge of Genres and Style
• Plus to have good Musical Sensibility
