About the role

St. Luke's is proud of the skills, experience and compassion of its employees. The employees of St. Luke's are our most valuable asset! Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.

The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) is responsible for providing healthcare services to patients under the supervision of, and/or in collaboration with, the attending physician. These services include, but not limited to, medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, and referrals. Consists of diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription

As with any other health care professional, the Advanced Practitioner is charged with being a patient advocate. The Advanced Practitioner will participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.

About the Pulmonary team at St. Luke's University Health Network:

Pulmonology is a medical subspecialty that allows for a variety of outpatient opportunities seeing routine follow-ups, complex hospital follow-ups, and sick visits. It is combined with inpatient opportunities too, as well as a higher level of acuity given our patient population. We also have opportunities for participation in procedures, research, education, and professional development opportunities, if desired.

The Pulmonary team at St. Luke's has an amazing team of 30+ physicians and advanced practitioners that work very closely together to care for our complex patients. Our physicians are extremely supportive of our advanced practitioners and we have an orientation process to allow for onboarding to our department. Once onboarded/acclimated, our APs are given independence in practice, but also agree that our physicians are always available and eager to collaborate as needed. The AP's work very collaboratively on a daily basis to cover inpatient/hospital needs, but function more independently in the outpatient setting. This opportunity will primarily cover the inpatient and outpatient services, including the general pulmonary and interventional pulmonary services, at the Grandview Hospital and St. Luke's Upper Bucks campuses, as well as some other locations on an as needed basis.
