POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a research assistant professor position in the areas of superconducting hybrid devices involving superconductors with graphene and other 2D materials. The successful candidate will lead in thin film growth, device fabrication, and transport measurements of devices involving superconductors interfaced with graphene, topological materials and other 2D materials. The project involves fabrication of superconducting thin films using a HPCVD process, nanofabrication, and low temperature and high magnetic field measurement. The ideal candidate should have very good knowledge and experience in the areas in superconductivity, quantum materials, and superconducting devices. Technical experience in the areas of epitaxial growth of thin films using CVD and related technique is preferred. Knowledge and experience on pulsed-laser deposition, sputtering, photo- and electron beam lithography, and measurements at low temperature and high magnetic fields are desired.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics, materials or device physics.
Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV and statement of research interests. Applicants should arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to qil1@psu.edu indicating the appropriate job number in the subject line.
