Position Summary
The Inventory Control Group Lead supports daily Inventory Control operations within the Distribution Center and reports directly to the Inventory Control Supervisor. This role functions as a working lead, providing day to day guidance to associates, reinforcing inventory accuracy, safety, and compliance standards, and supporting execution of operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily Inventory Control functions including cycle counting, slotting, inventory accuracy, root cause analysis, and Golden Zone execution
Provide on-floor guidance to associates to ensure tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on time
Reinforce compliance with CVS standard operating procedures regarding safety, quality, and inventory control standards
Assist with training, onboarding support, and work assignments as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor
Identify and escalate inventory discrepancies, safety concerns, and process issues
Support 5S, cleanliness, and lean practices within assigned areas
Assist with audits, data collection, and basic reporting
Collaborate with other DC departments to support balanced workflow and daily operational targets
Key Qualifications
Required
1–2 years of Inventory Control experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment
Handson experience with cycle counting, inventory accuracy, or slotting processes
Basic working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Ability to lead by example and provide guidance to peers
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to work in a fast paced, metrics driven environment
Preferred
Prior experience as a lead, trainer, or acting supervisor
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Exposure to the 5 S’s of lean (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
