This role encompasses components of a traditional Proposal Manager and Proposal Writer.

Introduction:

Kaizen Labs is seeking an experienced RFP/Proposal Writer with a specialized focus on state, local town, city, and county municipalities, particularly in parks and recreation departments. This is a critical role in driving our company’s growth and success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful RFP submissions, be comfortable working with technology solutions, and possess a strong understanding of technology terms and use cases within local government.

This is a unique opportunity to get in at the ground level and define what our RFP process and structure look like. You will have the ability to make a significant impact and truly own your work product, taking on the responsibilities of both RFP Manager and Writer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and write proposals specifically tailored for local government projects, with a focus on parks and recreation departments.

• Analyze RFPs from municipalities to understand and respond to specific requirements and objectives.

• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders at Kaizen Labs to gather necessary information and ensure accurate representation of our capabilities.

• Utilize technology solutions to create visually appealing and well-structured proposals.

• Manage the proposal schedule, coordinate inputs from various departments, and ensure timely submissions.

• Maintain a comprehensive database of proposal content, updating and customizing as needed for each municipality and project type.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.

• Proven track record of successful RFP submissions for local municipalities, with specific experience in parks and recreation highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of technology terms and use cases within local government.

• Proficiency in using technology tools such as Figma to design and enhance proposal documents.

• Ability to manage multiple RFPs at once with varying priority and deadlines.

Skills:

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills tailored to the public sector.

• Strong analytical skills to effectively interpret complex RFP documents.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple proposal projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with various proposal management tools.
