This unit is located at Thomas Jefferson University Campus in Philadelphia, PA.

Schedule Commitment 

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following: 

• Three (3) 12-hour shift per 6 week schedule (as needed)
• Two (2) holidays per year, one winter and one summer
• Twenty-four weekend hours per 6-week schedule (as needed)
• Twelve-hour shifts

Responsibilities 

 Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Unit Secretary will perform various clerical responsibilities on nursing units including: 

• Provides support to the nurse manager with reports, data, and special assignments. 
• Transcribes physician orders for medications, diets, treatments, etc. 
• Coordinate errands as directed/necessary for the department 
• Prepare, comply, and maintain patient records 

Qualifications 

To qualify as Unit Secretary, you must meet the following requirements for consideration: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Six (6) months of clerical experience 
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
