The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Arthroplasty Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our dynamic and collaborative team as an Assistant Professor.  This position offers the opportunity to advance the field through clinical excellence, innovative research, and teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. The successful candidate will contribute to the Department’s mission of delivering exceptional patient care, education, and research in a collegial academic environment, with a primary clinical focus on adult reconstruction/arthroplasty.  

Essential Functions

  • Provide expert clinical and surgical care in orthopaedic adult reconstruction, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of hip and knee arthritis, deformity, and revision indications across a varied patient population.
  • Perform primary and revision total joint arthroplasty procedures of the hip and knee, including perioperative optimization and longitudinal postoperative care; participate in general orthopaedic call coverage as assigned.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the academic mission through formal instruction, operative teaching, and clinical supervision.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical outcomes, quality improvement, or translational research in adult reconstruction, with an expectation to contribute to publications, presentations, and potential grant or clinical trial funding.
  • Participate in departmental collaboration, supporting strategic initiatives, arthroplasty program development, and multidisciplinary care coordination within the academic medical center.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent.
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License.
  • Completion of a 5-yearACGME-accredited (or equivalent) Orthopaedic Surgery residency.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • 1- year Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction/Arthroplasty.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Board eligible/Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery
