Pay Range:  851

Hourly Rate:  $11.50 - $12.75

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.

ATTENTION APPLICANTS

On-site interviews will be offered to qualified applicants (valid photo ID required) during the City of Oklahoma City From Classroom to City Career: Hiring & Career Expo Event, to be held Wednesday, March 25, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Metro Tech, 1900 Springlake Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73111. Interview questions are included in the supplemental questions.  Upon receiving and accepting a job offer, applicants will be referred for drug testing (as applicable based on position) that will be conducted on-site as part of the City’s background process for employment. Criminal history checks will also be obtained following the event as part of the background process.

JOB SUMMARY - High School Intern – Pathways to Progress Program:

This is an entry level internship that introduces high school students to municipal operations and foundational career skills. This position will primarily be responsible for assisting with basic administrative or operational tasks; supporting departmental projects or assignments; helping with events or community activities; shadowing City employees; and participating in internal/external learning and career readiness sessions. Students must be at least seventeen (17) years of age and currently enrolled in a high school, vocational technical school, or another qualifying educational program.

Failure to bring the signed authorization form may eliminate you from employment consideration.

Pay Method:  City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.
