What You’ll Be Doing:
Seeking Investment Banking Analyst to support the Houston EIT (Energy, Infrastructure, and Transition) team. The Analyst works with senior investment bankers and assumes much of the responsibilities for creating client materials, valuation analysis, financial modeling, and supporting day-to-day business origination efforts and deal activities. This may involve such duties as the preparation of detailed client presentations on mergers, acquisitions and A&D opportunities, assisting with the execution of client mandates and capital markets transactions, and monitoring the performance of client companies. Candidates are not required to have prior experience, but are expected to have a strong financial education, and any investment banking and valuation experience would be beneficial.
How You’ll Succeed:
Preparation of client presentation materials including M&A profiles and analysis, financial statement and capital markets analysis, case studies and valuation analysis
Conduct industry research and analysis to assist in the identification and/or analysis of investment banking business opportunities
Develop and audit sophisticated financial models
Prepare industry and financial analysis to determine client recommendations
Lead industry comparable value and transaction precedent analyses
Involvement in aspects of originating and executing client transactions, from pitch to closing with specific tasks to include financial modeling and analysis, drafting of offering documents, conducting due diligence and marketing of transactions
Responsibility for the quantitative financial analysis and qualitative document issues related to the execution of M&A, A&D and capital markets transactions for clients

You can demonstrate experience with:
1-3 years of prior investment banking or similar experience is beneficial although not required; however, candidates should possess strong knowledge of the financial markets and valuation analysis
Experience and/or familiarity with the energy industry is beneficial, although not required
Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including cash-flow analysis
Demonstrated experience preparing high quality client deliverable documents and presentations.
Extremely dedicated and motivated individual with high career aspirations. Must be capable of assuming significant levels of responsibility for assignments to be completed within short time frames.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, to actively participate in developing and maintaining productive client relationships.
Well-developed organizational skills in order to respond to shifting priorities on several simultaneous projects.
Demonstrated job commitment including a willingness to work, as well as personal flexibility and adaptability in order to meet client deliverables and timelines.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills in order to convey factual and conceptual information to others and promote the interests of CIBC Capital Markets.
