Position Overview
TEAM is seeking an RPG Developer with experience in the AS400 environment to support existing products and develop new products to help our business grow. The RPG Developer will be working closely with stakeholders and business analysts to understand the business requirements and break those requirements into code. You will also be assisting in troubleshooting, debugging, testing, maintaining, and improving our existing applications and codebases.
The RPG Developer will report to our Senior RPG Developer.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain custom RPG code to support and improve upon our products within the AS/400 environment
- Design, develop, and document new applications in response to user requests
- Partner with business analysts, end users, and IT to determine functional specifications and anticipated impact of changes to codebase and business
- Translate requirements into reliable and robust code to achieve business goals
- Analyze, monitor, test, and document all program changes
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in RPG 400, RPG ILE, and CL programming languages
- 5+ years of experience in JDE World; must have solid understanding of JDE World Technical Foundation (ex. Dream Writer, World Writer, system codes, data dictionary, SVR)
- Professional experience developing, maintaining, and supporting RPG applications in the AS/400 environment
- Proficiency with JDE World 9.3 environment
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts and principles
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills; you can distill information clearly, thoroughly, and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- Knowledge of financial systems and payroll strongly preferred
- Advanced understanding of SQL concepts, including embedded SQL
Special Work Conditions
- Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.
Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.The compensation range for this position is:$100,000—$120,000 USD
