Anne Arundel Dermatology is searching for a self-motivated, high energy Mohs Histotechnician to join our growing practice. Founded over 40 years ago with a mission to provide the highest quality and full spectrum of medical, surgical, and esthetic skin care services to each and every one of its patients, Anne Arundel Dermatology has assembled the finest group of Mohs surgeons in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.
Pay range: $25-35/hr, depending upon experience. Mileage reimbursement providedTravel required regularly between the following locations: Westminster, Havre De Grave, Quarterfield, Prince Frederick. Plus Berlin 1x per month.
Responsibilities
- Prepare frozen sections of tissue for microscopic examination using Cryostat.
- Cares for, maintains, and troubleshoots all laboratory equipment, instruments, and accessories.
- Cleans, stocks, and inventories the laboratory area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards.
- Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Travel required to multiple office locations within the Maryland region.
- Some overnight travel will be required. Reimbursement for mileage is provided.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
- Experienced with frozen sections, grossing, embedding and cutting tissue.
- Detail-oriented person.
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
- Presents themselves in a professional manner.
- Quick learner.
- Team player.
- Dependable; with excellent attendance.
- Able to adapt to a high paced workflow based on demand.
- Works quickly, without compromising quality or safety.
- Pleasant and optimistic personality.
- Proficient at multitasking.
Licensure/Certifications/Education
- Preferred HT (ASCP) or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have at least 60 semester hours in science from an accredited institution.
- High School graduate.
