About This Role:
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Manager, Clinical Budget and Contracts to assist in the financial oversight of Axsome-sponsored clinical trials. Primary responsibilities include developing and negotiating site budgets, supporting site payments, and tracking and forecasting budgets. Candidates for this role are expected to have a strong knowledge of clinical trials and understanding of the clinical trial site contracting process. The Manager, Clinical Budget and Contracts will be an integral part of the Clinical team, working closely with the Finance team, and reporting to the Associate Director, Clinical Budget and Contracts
This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead in conjunction with the study team, the development of clinical trial site budgets
- Lead the negotiation of clinical trial site budgets and payment terms, liaise with Legal on contract negotiations, as needed. Facilitate QC review and execution of finalized clinical trial agreements
- Function as Site Payment Lead for assigned clinical trials. Build finalized budgets in site payment system, support site invoicing queries, and facilitate visit and invoice payments approvals. Generate site payment reports
- Maintain repository of site master budgets and research fee dashboards to allow for transparency of site and study budget comparison
- Support Finance team on expense and payment reporting and audit process as needed
- Participate in the identification and discussion of opportunities to improve and enhance existing procedures and improve the utilization of financial system tools
- Support/lead project initiatives related to the role
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 4+ years in clinical research industry with at least 3 years of direct budget negotiation experience
- Ability to work on site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles
Experience and Knowledge:
- Excellent analytical skills including advanced proficiency in Excel and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports
- Strong knowledge of clinical trials and good clinical practice (GCP)
- Self-driven professional with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, team environment
- Prior experience working with clinical site payment systems
- Organize work effectively, and strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Salary and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
