Senior Project Manager

A Senior Project Manager’s (SPM) role is to manage marketing programs and their subsequent deliverables from conception to project completion and client delivery. SPM’s are responsible for drafting initial project timelines and work-back schedules, as well as making sure deliverables route through all departments to keep all projects on schedule within an overarching program or campaign timeline. SPMs understand all of FARM’s capabilities and know the step-by-step details required to deliver a successful program in any area. SPMs also manage all financial aspects of a program, including initial scoping and cost-based estimating, ongoing budget to actuals management, identifying and managing scope creep and protecting final project margin.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- In depth knowledge of capabilities and resources of agency.
- Builds strong working relationship with client and all internal producers of the work.
- Drives the tactical production of all projects/programs, including resource management.
- Manages systems/tools that contribute to project/program success.
- Ensures “the work” is on budget, on time and on quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from start to finish, internally and with client. Facilitating all assigned client projects, making sure projects track against deadline and budget.
- Define the scope of the project, resources needed to complete the project and determine project schedule and monitoring process.
- Responsible for managing the budget of the project – forecasting, budgeting, estimating and invoicing.
- Schedule work and review current team workload to evaluate if additional support is needed.
- Monitor and allocate necessary budget for project, ensure efficient execution of project, cut POs or facilitate other financial paperwork as needed.
- Ensure all work is completed on time, on budget and meets our high quality standards.
- Communicate directly, via phone or email, with clients, to assist the Account team in facilitating projects.
- Act as account lead on certain projects
- Keep apprised of clients’ products/services/marketing developments as well as competitive and industry information. Use this information to identify opportunities to gain new projects and grow accounts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience required in an agency setting.
- Job title dependent upon years of experience.
- Attention to detail; strong organizational skills
- Ability to take ownership of work and meet deadlines
- Capable of managing several projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to adapt to project management software (Workamajig).
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to work in a team environment
