Position Summary:
Q2IMPACT is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as?Director of Programs who brings experience translating efficient operations to support corporate strategy. This is a new position that will oversee our growing portfolio of projects and play a leadership role in shaping the next decade. The incumbent will be a member of Q2IMPACT’s leadership team and will be responsible for driving thought leadership, on project growth, and driving project excellence. Responsible for meeting revenue, P&L targets across the portfolio, labor planning, ensuring project technical and financial performance, managing risk, and supporting Q2IMPACT’s growth.
The right candidate will be forward thinking and innovative leader who is able to provide new technical and technology-based solutions that are aligned with evolving market needs. He/she should work to incorporate our new tools/products in the projects and be driven to grow the project portfolio. He/she should have an eye for detail as well as be able to oversee project operations and smooth project implementation, problem solve, and provide clear direction and goals to the team as well as be able to mentor them.
The ideal candidate should be driven by excellence, have the ability to multitask effectively, and bring leadership experience and excellent communication skills. They should have demonstrated success working with different clients and stakeholders including but not limited to the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Defense. They should also have a strong background in project management and oversight; experience with various contracting mechanisms as well as cooperative agreements and subawards; project start-up; client management; and technical experience aligned with Q2IMPACT ’s growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight: Work with project management teams and field teams to deliver high quality programming, meet and exceed annual target budgets, and proactively identify and address areas of risk.

Develop new and innovative strategies that can grow Q2IMPACT program portfolio and be a differentiator in the market; contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s larger strategic plans.

Contribute to Q2IMPACT strategic and financial goals by strengthening organizational capabilities and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Strategic Planning: Work across projects and portfolios to identify and address cross-cutting challenges and opportunities. For example, identifying existing and projected technical needs and initiating recruitment for candidates; improving the budget forecasting process and oversight in coordination with finance; developing and deploying risk mitigation strategies.

Business development: Contribute directly to business development by leading and writing proposals and working through existing projects to identify areas for growth.

Technical Leadership: Represent Q2IMPACT in a technical capacity to industry events, while engaging with clients, and through thought leadership. Support staff to expand their technical capacity. Identify technical gaps and opportunities for growth. Work collaboratively with the leadership team.

Capacity Building: Provide a mix of coaching, mentoring, and training to staff. Directly support senior-level staff to build leadership and technical skills. Develop company-wide capacity building/training programs for project management skills.

Foster a culture of knowledge management, ensuring lessons learned are documented and shared widely.
Education, Qualifications & Skills:

Advanced degree in international relations, international development, business, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Experience working across multiple clients and different donor agencies is highly desirable.
