Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager Origination Engineering, the Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of clean energy projects in metro New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Roles and responsibilities

• Support the origination team to screen project opportunities for technical viability.
• Coordinate with third-party resources to prepare 15% designs and submit interconnection applications.
• Coordinate with third-party resources to conduct site technical due diligence, such as environmental, flood, fire safety, and site constraints for system sizing.
• Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review and contribute to project designs.
• Provide technical support and input throughout the design and planning phases.
• Assist in the selection and management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor contractor performance and coordinate activities to meet project milestones.
• Address technical challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to find effective and timely solutions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
• Prepare regular reports on project progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
• Support the enforcement of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate technical aspects of the project to internal and external parties.

Required education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
