Position Summary
Powersports Sales Management Experience is Required.
The General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for leading all sales operations for a high-volume powersports dealership, including new and pre-owned unit sales, F&I production, digital lead management, and sales team performance. This role requires a disciplined, hands-on leader with strong process control, KPI accountability, and the ability to drive consistent execution in a fast-paced retail environment.
The GSM will play a critical role in revenue growth, margin performance, inventory management, and team development while partnering closely with the General Manager to achieve store objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily sales operations for new and pre-owned units
- Drive sales volume, gross profit, and market share performance
- Manage and enforce the sales process from lead to delivery
- Oversee CRM execution, lead response, follow-up, and appointment discipline
- Maximize F&I to maximize PUS, product penetration, and compliance
- Manage inventory flow, aging, turn rates, and pricing strategy
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop sales managers and sales staff
- Conduct daily sales meetings, performance reviews, and role-play training
- Analyze KPIs, sales reports, and financial statements to identify gaps and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with OEM, state, and company policies
- Support promotional events, OEM programs, and seasonal sales initiatives
- 5+ years of leadership experience in powersports, automotive, or RV
- Prior experience as a Sales Manager, GM, GSM
- Strong understanding of dealership KPIs, inventory management, and gross optimization
- Proven ability to lead teams through accountability and structured processes
- Experience working with CRM systems and digital retail tools
- High energy, strong communication skills, and a results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- High-volume dealership experience
- Powersports OEM experience (Polaris, BRP, Yamaha, etc.)
- Turnaround or performance-improvement background
- Experience managing multi-brand or multi-location inventory
