Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Computer Sciences or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 3 years Computer Science, IT, or related technical experience with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Position Purpose:Under minimal supervision gather business requirements and participate in the support and delivery of business solutions. Perform data analysis, extraction, and delivery activities. Support the execution of information, and data. Work to resolve issues and seek guidance from team members on escalated issues. Serve as a resource and contribute to the achievement of team/organization goals. Align the functionality of complex Enterprise Applications with organizational business needs. Ensure that the Application results in significant process improvements.Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:- Collaborate with functional area management and end-users to develop and document detailed business requirements.
- Assist in the creation of Business Tools based on business needs and current information infrastructure.
- Work with Business Unit & BTC Teams to establish business requirements into reporting specifications, including user interfaces, inputs, input validation rules, processing logic and outputs.
- Define the Business Utility interface requirements with Legacy Systems and IT databases (EDW, BUAD, BW, etc..).
- Monitor report and utility failures and develop recovery processes and procedures.
- Create all documentation necessary to the proper use of the application: user guides, operating procedures, etc.
- Assist end-users with the day-to-day use of the reports and ensure that operating procedures are communicated, understood and complied with.
- Investigate end-user issues and provide detailed documentation to help troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Keep abreast of new system database technologies and data extraction techniques and practices. Make recommendations as appropriate.
- Interface with vendor and Corporate I/T personnel to ensure that the Application's functionality is delivered in accordance with specified requirements.
- Develop detailed test scripts and conduct rigorous tests to ensure that the Application functionality and performance are in compliance with business requirements.
- Support the development of reports with analytical processing systems, such as BOBJ, SQL, COGNOS, etc.. .
- Maintain current application-related information on the corporate intranet, Sharepoint, and/or SmarTeam (FAQs, process maps, troubleshooting guides, etc.) .
- Develop and maintain web based tools as required. .
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and databases, data extraction techniques and applications, and data reporting/analysis tools & techniques leveraging databases.
- Demonstrated knowledge of how data works within Operations, Materials, Procurement, Quality, and/or Finance in order to provide information to the business unit.
- Must be detail oriented with an ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple assignments and priorities.
- Understanding of data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, and usage of relational and dimensional data models and structure is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry best practices.
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
