POSITION SUMMARY
Are you skilled at delivering to strategic customers? Are you familiar with satellite missions? Capable of overseeing information technology (IT) service delivery within satellite communications (SATCOM) operations and maintenance (O&M) functional areas?
- Must hold active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- This is an in-person position and telework is not available.
- Electronics Engineer III/Maintenance Manager: Design, integrate, maintain, and test electronic circuits and analyze the performance of components, networks, and integrated systems utilizing multiple testing methods and procedures. Candidate must show expansive skills across numerous subsets of digital technology (including information technology (IT), radio frequency (RF), satellite communications (SATCOM), and electrical). Responsible for end-to-end (from SATCOM terminal and associated communications equipment to RF transmitter propagation) maintenance, whole system and line replaceable unit (LRU) troubleshooting, fault isolation and characterization, LRU testing, repair and replacement, system operations, system and component signal and data flow, and overall communications quality to and from all connected nodes (space and terrestrial).
- EPS OMII Role: Plans, coordinates, deconflicts, and performs operational level maintenance (OLM) activities on satellite communications equipment, associated communications equipment, infrastructure, radio frequency (RF) components, electrical components, and associated spares.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Leadership, management, problem-solving, and planning.
- Perform hardware and software preventative maintenance IAW established procedures and policy.
- Perform operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and planning activities on non-operationally accepted equipment and systems without formally endorsed guidance.
- Respond to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions promptly.
- External coordination with supporting depot for replacements, refreshes, adjudication, and resolution on affected systems.
- Oversee and maintain certification and training plans and update training materials as necessary for new equipment.
- Support procedure development, data analysis, and other related activities.
- Perform Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities, including developing the EPS-R Integrated Support Plan.
- Recommend changes to new and future operations procedures, policies, and training.
- Support system engineering and integration assessments for current and emerging systems.
- Provide technical feasibility and analysis support as required.
- Monitor and maintain corrosion control procedures IAW Government-approved Corrosion Control Plan
- Support cryptologic management functions in support of the EPS CAPS mission and future EPS-R mission.
- Perform duties and tasks as a primary COMSEC user and possibly an alternate COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO).
- Ensure/ manage Government Furnished Property (GFP) IAW local procedure accountability.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- IAM II (CompTia Sec +)
- Minimum: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated background in management
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Six years’ experience in SATCOM Operations/ Maintenance
- Capable of performing all tasks autonomously and ascertaining and addressing unknown tasks, conditions, and parameters. Capable of managing known processes, supervising, training, leading others, and developing those below them.
PREFERED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Real-time ground systems operations experience for GEO/HEO or LEO spacecraft.
- Prior military experience as a Cryptologic Technician or Electronics Technician, Digital Wideband Systems Maintainer, Command and Control Systems Operator, or Satellite Communications System Operator/ Maintainer.
