Job Description

AECOM/Hunt has an exciting position for a Junior Construction Estimator in our Dallas, TX offices.  

• Participate in construction estimating systems and processes.  
• Develop knowledge in estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for preparing estimates.
• Exposed to various processes, project actions and assumptions that may impact estimates.
• Gathers, calculates and compiles data for use in developing all types of estimates.
• Performs the routine aspects of estimating assignments.  
• Assists senior specialists in performing various estimating functions as required.
• Exposed to drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts, published and internal data used in preparing estimates.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS Finance, Business Administration or similar curriculum or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in commercial construction estimating,

Preferred Requirements:

  • Direct experience in domestic construction estimating from a large GC or subcontractor.
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills
  • Sales & Customer Service experience in construction.
  • Experience in formulating estimates and proposals.
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans to create proposals, ensuring proposals are thorough and complete.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with clients through strong communication via email, phone and in person correspondence.  
  • Construction documentation knowledge.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as SmartBid, Construct Connect, Building Connected, and Procore.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
