What would you do as our Senior Test Automation Engineer
As our Senior Test Automation Engineer, for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative Agile development environment, exercising your skills and putting your experience into practice by supporting our mission to increase automated test coverage across our range of products and solutions, building in quality from the outset. Reporting to the Test Automation Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our test automation strategy and achieving departmental goals. Please note that this a UK based role with occasional travel to the Olney office.

 

You would also:
•    Improve existing test packs and expand automated test coverage
•    Take a risk based approach to automation, identifying suitable test cases and appropriate test levels and support development squads in analysing requirements, creating acceptance criteria and writing feature based test cases using BDD
•    Develop automation code in C# using a range of tools/frameworks
•    Automate a variety of our products and application types including web, desktop/embedded and APIs using industry tools and following best practices
•    Support with establishing performance test baselines and provide engineer colleagues with automation guidance, best practice, and upskilling

 

The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who has:
•    At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Test Automation Engineer or equivalent position (i.e. Senior SDET)
•    Strong C# coding skills and object-oriented programming, including Dependency Injection and mocking as well as experience with BDD and SpecFlow
•    Strong technical expertise with API testing tools/techniques including Swagger, Postman, RestSharp, OpenAPI
•    Strong to expert technical expertise with modern frontend automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
•    Experience with containerised environments using Docker and experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines

You should also have an ISTQB certification or equivalent experience/knowledge as well as competencies with source control, branching and merging strategies. It would be an advantage if you have cloud and service-oriented environments with distributed and scalable architectures, IoT device automation experience and any other cording languages in addition to C#.
