Your Responsibilities

 

As a Embedded Software Engineer for Intelligent Solutions Group Urbandale located in Urbandale, IA, you will:

 

• Be a member of an embedded development team working to build functionality for John Deere Precision Tech related to mapping and recording work information.  
• Collaborate with a product team and other software teams within the John Deere Tech Stack to design, build and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment.
• Learn how customers use Precision Tech and apply those lessons to future designs and features.
• Provide product support and defect triage of those systems.

What Skills You Need

 

• 1+ years of practical experience or academic project experience in embedded software development using C++, Python, Java or other Object-Oriented languages.
• 1+ years of experience in design, development and testing software applications.
• Exposure to network protocols and tools.
• Understanding of real-time operating system and multi process/thread concepts.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a distributed team environment. 

What Makes You Standout

 

• Knowledge of IoT or similar messaging protocols.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Exposure to different database technologies. 

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• BS Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
