Job Description
Purchasing Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Primarily responsible for inventory management, stock control, submitting purchase requisitions, cost reduction, and vendor management.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to vendor selections, reviewing inventory data, and maintaining data within internal ERP and LIMS systems.
- This position requires the ability to research and identify new sourcing opportunities, monitor cost reductions, communicate effectively with vendors and service providers, and build positive internal and external business relationships.
- Calculating and submitting purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment at a favorable cost, consistent with quality.
- Controlling inventory to support laboratory operations, establishing control of supplies through routine analysis of testing volumes and inventory trends.
- Review and follow all standard operating procedures.
- High integrity and demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with other departments in a team environment.
- Consults with manufacturers, distributors, and representatives concerning product and supply chain non-conformances.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities to support laboratory and facility operations and equipment as assigned.
- Meets basic expectations of Eurofins DPT’s quality management system, including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, accurate recordkeeping so the company may meet its stated quality policy and objectives.

Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of purchasing or inventory experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Basic Minimum Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing or inventory control.
- Experience in purchasing or inventory control in a regulated laboratory setting.
- General clinical laboratory knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Intermediate data entry skills.
- Ability to problem solve and multitask.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
