Advanced Psychoeducation Specialist – Full Time Days

  

Job Summary: 

The Advanced Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). Provide clinical and administrative supervision. 

  

Essential Functions: 

  • Facilitates Psychoeducation groups and provides individual activities tailored to specific needs of patients. 

  • May participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings. 

  • Offers community resource knowledge and coordination of activities.  

  • Completes assessments, care planning and discharge planning in collaboration with the Social Worker team.  

  • Provide one-on-one (1:1) patient safety companion service and patient checks as needed. 

  • Participates in continued education and in-service training.  

  

Education: 

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Expressive Therapy (Music, Dance/Movement), Counseling, or Human Services (required) 

  

Licensing & Certifications: 

  • Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following (required) 

  • Care Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (CTRS) 

  • Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC)  

  • Therapy Credentialed Supervisor (ATCS) 

  • Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) 

  • Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT) 

  • Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L) 

  

Experience: 

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare, social services or human services setting (required) 

  

Skills & Abilities: 

  • De-escalation and Crisis Intervention 

  • Debriefing and documentation  

  • Motivational interviewing 

  • Patient centered care and care planning  

  • Performing medical and safety screenings 

  • Working within an interdisciplinary team 

  • Individual, family, and group psychotherapy 

  • Mentoring and training of employees  

  • Participation in enterprise-wide workgroups
