About the role

 

Position Overview:

This team lead level position is responsible for supporting Market Operations with all Asset management and maintenance needs.  This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Manage fleet maintenance onsite for specific  Market or Markets (Project Management services, Department of Transportation inspections, basic inspections)
  • Work with third party vendors, local managers, and regional managers to maximize the uptime of the equipment. 
  • Identify and evaluate trends, evaluate outcomes, and develop plans to accomplish team tasks and objectives.  
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Handle all contractual services; including administrative functions, operations, parts purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling 
  • Maintain assets; schedule and administer fleet maintenance with 3rd party vendors
  • Monitor repairs and estimates to ensure invoices are charged out properly 
  • Plan, develop, execute, and monitor local tire program
  • Manage warrantable repairs to ensure maximum recovery with minimum downtime
  • Work closely with local managers and regional managers to provide maintenance status and budget updates 
  • Partner with leadership team to initiate and implement projects that improve efficiency 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor DOT inspection process to ensure 100% compliance
  • Schedule and coordinate all services and repairs with all vendors (DFS, Isuzu, Satellite, Conti, and Fleet wash)
  • Gather all invoices and documents needed for haulers and provide to the invoice coordinator
  • Review and approve all invoices for fleet assets
  • Receive and add new units to the fleet (hauler kits and binders)
  • Resolve and manage all Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Inspect the hauler fleet monthly for DOT, and Brand and stocked with items required 
  • Monitor all Brand requirements and order and install all panels on units.
  • Support Fleet Maintenance Manager with totaled assets
  • Complete the once a day inspections
  • Training on assets/lot management to protect our assets

 

What the Job Requires:

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, required. 
  • 4+ years’ experience in fleet maintenance or similar field 
  • At least 2+ years of leadership experience 
  • Experience in project management 
  • Knowledge of compliance with DOT and CSA regulations
  • Previous safety, fleet or asset management experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, compliant with Company guidelines. 
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and result driven
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles
  • Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to move in and out of vehicles with high frequency.
  • Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50%
