The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Disruptive Computing & Networking (DC&N) software capability is seeking an Experienced Data Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA or Westlake Village, CA.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. You will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Advanced Training & Simulation, Production Analytics, Autonomy, Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensing, Cybersecurity, Disruptive Computing & Networks, and High-Fidelity Digital Twin & Virtualization, and much more.
Our software products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. Projects can range from new cyber security solutions for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircraft, creating virtual avionics development test environments across several commercial, defense, satellite, and space platforms, satellite payload technologies, and autonomy.

Position Responsibilities:
• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive decisions.
• Utilize Elasticsearch to design and implement efficient data indexing and retrieval strategies.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Implement and maintain Elasticsearch clusters, ensuring data availability, reliability, and consistency across distributed environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Conduct data quality assessments and ensure data integrity across various sources.
• Create and maintain documentation for data processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data analytics and search technologies.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 5+ years of experience do you have with Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Spark
• Experience with database technologies, such as SQL Server, Teradata, Postgres, MySQL, and/or NoSQL technologies (ElasticSearch, MarkLogic, Mongo)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Shiny, PowerBI)
• Experience in Python and/or R
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 1+ years of experience in SQL and experience with data manipulation and analysis.
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
