The Role:
The Senior Director, Distribution & Logistics - INT, is a newly created position responsible for the Distribution and Logistics area related to the Moderna’s Individualized Neoantigen Therapy (INT) clinical and commercial programs around the globe. In this role, the Director must effectively respond to business needs while ensuring compliance with local and global Regulations from Health, Transportation, Security, Tax and Customs Authorities. The Senior Director will be responsible for the design and implementation of the distribution and logistics strategy for Individualized Neoantigen Therapy (INT) programs. This role involves an effective, lean, and cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. including partners and service providers, to establish the best distribution and logistics capabilities to support Moderna’s INT programs, and other similar programs within its portfolio. The Senior Director will report into the Executive Director, Global Logistics role and will become a member of the Global Logistics leadership team.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Lead the definition and implementation of the distribution and logistics strategy for Individualized Neoantigen Therapy (INT) programs, including development of applicable activities for and support to the implementation of new clinical studies and commercial indications.

• Define and establish internal, external, and partner competencies to enable INT distribution and logistics.

• Work closely with related functions such as Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, Manufacturing, CMC Portfolio Operations, Finance, Tax, Quality, Digital, Master Data and Trade Operations & Compliance, to enable best capabilities for importation, customs clearance, quality release and transportation of INT product from manufacturing sites to therapy administration locations.

• Ensure that INT products are delivered under conditions which ensure that their quality, safety and efficacy are preserved up to the delivery point by follow local and global Regulations, regarding Quality and Regulatory such as GDP/GMP, including Cold Chain, Security, Customs and Trade Compliance

• Oversee the end-to-end INT distribution execution.

• Lead internal and external communication activities for INT distribution and logistics.

• Manage the INT distribution and logistics business master data preparation and maintenance, and work with master data owners, and Master Data and Digital teams to ensure data is effectively setup and maintained in relevant systems (SAP as the primary application).

• Manage process and lane mapping for end-to-end distribution processes, from order creation to clinical site delivery.

• Develop real-time AI-based metrics and analytics capabilities to support the end-to-end monitoring and proactive decision-making of INT orders and shipments.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Education: Minimum of Master or Ph.D. in Sciences, Technology, or Industrial Engineering

• At least 20 years in supply chain and distribution & logistics experience. Experience with individualized therapies is a plus. Experience with Cold Chain and Specialty Transportation Products is a plus. Experience on Shipping Validation strategy and activities is a plus.

• At least 10 years of Pharma/Biotech industry experience

• At least 15 years of management experience

• Project management experience
