Cognosante is seeking a creative, enthusiastic lead technical trainer to support the Multidimensional Information Data Analytics System (MIDAS). MIDAS is a Marketplace data warehouse and analytics system that leverages AWS cloud computing. The bulk of MIDAS data is stored in AWS Simple Cloud Storage (S3). Redshift Spectrum is used to query data in the MIDAS AWS S3 clusters, which allow users to access data stored as both files and through Redshift as external schemas/tables. MIDAS finds value in Redshift’s columnar storage as an answer to MIDAS’s complex analytics and its ever-growing data storage needs. MIDAS uses other Relational Database Services (RDS) like Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to mainly support Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products.

 
What is the position? 
The fully remote candidate will focus primarily on designing, developing, and delivering documentation that enhance the data analytics and business intelligence capabilities of our employees. You will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to understand their learning needs and ensure that the documentation and associated training aligns with the strategic goals of the organization. Your expertise in data analytics tools, methodologies, and business processes will be instrumental in enabling our workforce to extract actionable insights from data and make informed decisions.
 
What will I get to do?  

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess documentation/training needs and design effective learning programs in data analytics and business intelligence.

• Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, hands-on exercises, and other instructional resources.

• Conduct training sessions for employees at various levels, ensuring a clear understanding of data analytics concepts and their practical applications.

• Utilize effective training techniques and adult learning principles to facilitate engaging and impactful training experiences.

• Familiarize employees with various data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.

• Provide documentation and training in data manipulation, visualization, and interpretation to improve data-driven decision-making skills.

• Educate participants on the significance of data-driven decision-making and its role in achieving business objectives.

• Train employees in understanding and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and using data to identify opportunities and challenges.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics and business intelligence to continually enhance training programs.

• Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary updates to training materials and approaches.

 What qualifications do I need? 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

• 4 additional years of relevant experience

 
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?  

• Proven work experience as a Training Specialist or similar role in data analytics and business intelligence training.

• Strong knowledge of data analytics tools and methodologies, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training programs to diverse audiences.
  Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences.

• Passion for continuous learning and keeping up with industry trends in data analytics and business intelligence.

• Certification in training and development.

• Experience in the Data Analytics domain.
