POSITION TITLE:                                                               Food and Beverage Attendant

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:                                           Untenured (Part-Time) 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Food and Beverage Attendant shall be responsible for customer services duties in the operation of food and beverage operations ensuring that sales and services are provided in an efficient, effective, and timely manner. 

In addition, the Food and Beverage Attendant shall be responsible for adherence to Authority operational policies and procedures designed to promote efficiency of operation and quality of service.

POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:                                         Lead F&B Attendant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in greeting guests while completing the following activities in the food and beverage department:  take food and beverage orders, collecting payments, operating cash registers, preparing food and beverages, answering telephone, preparing, and serving alcohol beverages, providing directions, and providing other information on pricing and food/beverage selection as needed.
  2. Assist in verifying and reconciling cash drawer upon completion of work shift. Prepare deposit slip to be included in daily cash receipts. Assist in monitoring beverage cart sales activities and inventory replenishment as needed. Assist in verifying and reconciling beverage cart cash and inventories upon completion of beverage cart attendant’s shift. Prepare beverage cart deposit slip to be included in daily food and beverage cash receipts.
  3. Assist with inventory control measures at where assigned. Participate in inventory control measures at other Authority managed golf courses to complete monthly inventory counts as needed. Review and report any inconsistencies in cash or inventory to the Golf Operations Manager and/or Director of Golf Operations in a timely fashion.
  4. Ensures that food and beverage preparation and serving areas are kept in a clean and neat manner in accordance with established food preparation regulations. 
  5. Assist in providing a safe environment free of harassment for department employees and ensure compliance with all Authority policies, applicable OSHA standards and local, state, and federal laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
  6. Use computer terminal to enter and retrieve information and prepare reports.
  7. Other duties as assigned by Supervisors.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. The Food and Beverage Attendant shall be knowledgeable in administrative and operational rules, procedures and programs of the food and beverage department.
  2. Knowledgeable in the laws governing the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  3. Working knowledge of short order food preparation, preparation and serving of beverages and alcoholic beverages. 
  4. Knowledge of proper procedures for food handling, food storage, health standards, sanitation practices, and products. 
  5. Position requires irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; the performance of work assignments may not be directly related to job specifications. Adjustments of leave shifts and breaks may be required upon short notice.
  6. Position requires ability to interact with a diverse group of fellow employees, clients, the general public and outside vendors in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.
  7. Maintain a high public image, positive attitude and demeanor when performing a service for customers and the general public.
  8. Ability to make mathematical calculations.
  9. Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  10. Ability to learn and understand Point of Sale (POS) sales system, make change, balance receipts, and conduct credit card transactions.
  11. Knowledge of the game of golf, fees, scheduling tee times, golf course policies and operational procedures, techniques, and golf course security procedures.
  12. Ability to use a computer and related software and applications.
