Director, Americas Assurance Communications and Engagement Leader

 

The Opportunity

EY is seeking a bold, visionary, and highly strategic executive to lead and deliver comprehensive communications and engagement programs for the Americas Assurance practice. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a strategic advisor to the Americas Assurance Vice Chair and practice leadership, shaping and delivering a compelling communication strategy that inspires teams and energizes stakeholders. Your leadership will drive a connected, holistic approach to both internal and external communications, championing the adoption of new technologies and creative channels while empowering a high performing team to maximize impact.

As the leader you will oversee comprehensive communications for all areas of the Assurance practice including Audit, Tech Risk, CCaSS, FAAS, Forensics, and Expanded Assurance as well as the regulatory areas of the business, Professional Practice and the Quality Network- ensuring that all communications—internal and external—inform, engage, and align audiences with the practice priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory & Vision: Serve as a trusted advisor to Americas Assurance Vice Chair and executive leadership on a compelling and effective communication strategy for the Americas Assurance practice. Guide the narrative around transformation, ensuring all communications reflect and reinforce the practice’s strategic direction and firm priorities.
  • Holistic Communications Leadership: Develop and execute an integrated compelling communications and engagement strategy that connects internal and external audiences, leveraging technology and creative channels to deliver streamlined, effective messaging.
  • External Communications & Brand Leadership: Lead the external communications team, overseeing PR, social media, and agency partners to elevate the practice and executive leadership reputation and thought leadership in the market.
  • Regulatory Communications & Audit Quality: Work closely with regulatory areas of the business on communications strategy and controls, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with audit quality standards.
  • Cross-Practice Collaboration: Collaborate across service lines, the practice, global and with Americas communications team to drive consistency, knowledge sharing, and best practices in communications and engagement.
  • Team Leadership & Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Creative Channel Strategy: Think creatively about communication channels, embracing new technologies and approaches to ensure messages are delivered in the most impactful and efficient way possible.
  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of communications strategies, using data to drive continuous improvement and maximize value.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Proven ability to engage and inspire teams through visionary leadership and strategic communications.
  • Expertise in developing and executing holistic communications strategies for complex, global organizations
  • Demonstrated success in leading external communications, including PR, social media, and agency management
  • Experience and/or knowledge in regulatory and/or technical communications
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of empowering high-performing teams
  • Creative, agile, and results-driven, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Mastery of written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences

 

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (minimum 15+ years) leading communications within a professional services environment, with expertise in both internal and externa
