The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Assistant Director – Community Engagement (Cardinal Points). The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the Policy, Regulation & Member Engagement Division.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
The Assistant Director for the Division/Office of Community Engagement supports the Division/Office Director with statewide strategy, planning and implementation of the Community Engagement and Work Requirements program (Cardinal Points).
This position oversees program operations, stakeholder partnerships, member engagement, data reporting and interagency coordination to ensure operations efficiency and federal and state compliance.
The Assistant Director works under the direction of the Director of Policy, Regulation and Member Engagement, and collaborates closely with other divisions—including eligibility, data analytics, IT, communications, and managed care operations—to promote successful member participation and continuous improvement of the program.
The incumbent will also have management responsibilities.
Other key responsibilities include analysis of proposed legislation and budget amendments and testimony at legislative committee meetings and budgets.
The business need for this position have in office requirements to include but are not limited to in-person meetings, meetings with stakeholders, and staff development meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:
Considerable knowledge/experience of state Medicaid and CHIP policy, operations and federal-state partnership.
Considerable knowledge/experience in Medicaid operations, data reporting and contract management.
Considerable knowledge/experience in development of operational processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and member support.
Considerable knowledge/experience with implementation of large-scale or interagency initiatives and to operationalize complex policy goals and other new initiatives to improve Medicaid programs.
Extensive experience of systems/programs/computer software, to include Microsoft Suites.
Considerable extensive knowledge/experience of federal and state regulations related to the Cardinal Points program and reporting requirements.
Extensive experience with meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities/initiatives.
Considerable experience with managing relationships with the key stakeholders, such as MCOs, hospitals, Social Services, key agencies, and federal partners such as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
