Job Title:             Technician II Maintenance

Department:      Production 

 

Summary:

Diamondback Energy is looking for a motivated professional to be a part of our field maintenance team.  This role will report to the Foreman Maintenance position and will be part of a team servicing an entire operational area.  The Technician II Maintenance will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing the company’s equipment, including engines, compressors, and pumps.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Performs major mechanical overhauls and mechanical repair/maintenance work required for proper operations of field compressor units/turbo charges, oil/jacket water pumps, turbines, pumps, cooling equipment, and vehicles.
  • Troubleshoots problems and ensure repair/maintenance requirements are met.
  • Assists in or performs the construction, alteration, or repair of tools and fixtures as needed.
  • Assists in or performs advanced craft specialty duties of a technical nature, including locating and diagnosing malfunction, fitting parts, dismantling and assembling equipment/machines, and repairing and replacing defective parts.
  • Verifies dimensions, specifications and tolerances using blueprints. Depending on level, may develop facility specific maintenance programs (baseline maintenance) for mechanical rotating equipment.
  • Provides technical guidance to field-based personnel.
  • Tracks and analyzes data from baseline maintenance or other requested equipment analysis reports and provide guidance and/or recommendations regarding engine and/or compressor overhauls to help operations maximize profitability with consideration to short-term and long-term metric goals.
  • Carries out all required safety procedures and processes.
  • Uses computer/software programs to complete work tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Requires minimum (2) years of maintenance experience and (5) years of oilfield experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. 
  • Able to meet and maintain the clean driving insurability standard requirements to drive a company vehicle, which means a driving record that is clear of any of serious traffic violations within the past three (3) years (other driving record requirements may also apply)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic computer skills and to learn company-specific applications.
