Patient Navigator - Financial - Oncology OSC - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

Job Description:

The Oncology Patient Navigator - Financial serves as a financial counseling subject matter expert (SME) knowledgeable about healthcare insurances and clinical oncology; is an effective communicator capable of engaging in delicate face-to-face discussions with patients about their personal financial needs with empathy, support, and compassion; and has exceptional organizational skills and follow through.  The position is focused on: • Reducing treatment-related financial and emotional harm to patients

Faster time to treatment

Fewer insurance denials and write-offs

Increasing provider billable time by significantly reducing peer-to-peer reviews and administrative burden
Providing greater patient, provider and staff satisfaction
Duties are performed by FPO Oncology for ALL Treatment & STAT Patients

Education:

• Medical Assistant; Administrative Medical Assistant; Medical Biller; Associates Degree - Preferred

Experience:

• 1-2 years experience in Oncology in a medical office, clinic or hospital; or 2-5 years experience in a medical office, clinic or hospital - Required; Oncology experience preferred

Additional Experience:

• Medical Billing / Authorizations; Customer Service - Preferred

Certification:

• Oncology Patient Navigator Training - Required completion within 2 years of assuming this position

• Medical Assistant; Administrative Medical Assistant; Medical Billing- Preferred

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Comfortable conducting delicate face-to-face discussions with patients about their personal financial needs with empathy, support, and compassion

• Computer proficient; must be able to work with multiple programs, software and websites simultaneously; MS Excel, Word & Outlook required

• EMR proficiency, preferably Epic

• Outstanding customer service, organizational skills & follow through

• Outgoing and positive attitude

Work Shift:

08.0 - 08:30 - 17:30 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$33.17 - $44.78

Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
