The General Manager (GM) provides overall strategic and operational leadership for Marmon-Herrington, driving profitable growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. With full profit and loss (P&L) accountability, this role oversees all functions of the business including sales, operations, engineering, quality, finance, and safety, while leading a team of ~30 employees and managing ~$27M in revenue. The GM builds and develops a high-performing leadership team, drives innovation and operational efficiency, ensuring high-quality standards, and ensures cross-functional collaboration to position Marmon-Herrington for long-term success in the heavy-duty drivetrain and mobility markets.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Partner with the Company President and leadership team to define and execute the company’s strategy, goals, and growth agenda.
- Lead all business functions: sales, engineering, operations, and finance.
- Drive profitable growth through market expansion, product innovation, customer partnerships, and operational excellence.
- Develop budgets, operating plans, and KPIs that ensure accountability, financial discipline, and alignment with Marmon standards.
Financial & P&L Accountability
- Own full P&L responsibility, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, and cash flow performance.
- Monitor financial results, identify risks and opportunities, and adjust strategies to achieve short- and long-term targets.
- Maintain strong business controls, compliance, and governance practices.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee production, procurement, quality, engineering, and supply chain activities to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and delivery performance.
- Embed a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Uphold and enforce strict quality standards to ensure products and services meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and track performance metrics that drive accountability and operational results.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Drive initiatives to optimize resource allocation and capacity utilization across departments.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team and workforce.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across all functions.
- Provide mentorship, set clear expectations, and support professional development to strengthen organizational capabilities.
Customer & Market Focus
- Ensure products and services consistently meet customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Cultivate long-term customer and partner relationships that drive growth and loyalty.
- Advance product development and customer-driven solutions to maintain competitive advantage.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with industry, legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact financial, operational, or reputational performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, ideally in heavy-duty vehicles, powertrain systems, or industrial manufacturing.
- Proven experience in a senior operational role, such as COO, GM, or Operations Director with full P&L ownership and delivering profitable growth preferred.
- Strong operational expertise combined with operational, commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience driving organizational change, Lean/CI initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration. <
