Job Description

  • Support the Cell Encapsulation Process Development team by generating necessary material for supporting studies
  • Perform routine assays to characterize the drug product in support of studies and overall development (e.g. morphology, mechanical properties, pore size assessments)
  • Assist encapsulation team in the development and understanding of the encapsulation process (e.g. assess process pain points of high variability, investigate principles utilized in the encapsulation process, generate data for process reproducibility and scalability)
  • Aid in supporting tech transfer of the drug product manufacturing process (e.g. DBR and SOP generation & support GAP assessment)
  • Document manufacturing details, observations, and analytical results according to company procedures, work instructions, job aids, and SOPs
  • Work with the health and safety of yourself and your teammates in mind; comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and company EHS regulations 

Qualifications

  • M.S with 1+ years of experience (or a B.S. with 2+ years of experience) in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical/Biochemical Engineering, or a Material Science
  • Prior experience with hydrogels preferred
  • Prior experience working in a BSL1+ “wet laboratory” environment 
  • Prior experience with mammalian cell culture preferred
  • Prior experience with good aseptic technique
