ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.
· Gives directions and provides escort to customers in need.
· Provides assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.
· Makes chip fills, jackpot verifications.
· Regularly provides escorts of money and persons in money-handling positions. Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
· Patrols all sections of property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security. Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
· Makes lost and found detailed descriptions of people and incidents.
· Enforces all company policies and procedures.
· Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· College degree preferred.
· Minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in security/law enforcement and investigations required with at least five years in a supervisory/management capacity.
· Must possess knowledge of, and working relationships with, local, state, and federal law enforcement and gaming control authorities.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills required.
· Strong communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills required.
· Computer experience to include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must have a professional appearance and be a team player.
· Must be able to obtain a required Virginia Gaming Key License from the VA Lottery.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
· Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.
· Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to team member and guest problems, in a timely manner.
· Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
· Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.
· Respond to visual and aural cues.
· Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.
· Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with questions.
· Must be able to maneuver around office and property.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job.
· Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor via stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalators.
· Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
· Must be able to work a varied schedule, holidays, and weekends.
