Work you’ll do

You will Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) Provide input to the software components of IT system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis. Develop and implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards. Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components. Develop software solutions by analyzing IT system performance standards, confer with users and IT engineers.

Qualifications  

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Ability to be onsite 100% of the time in one of the locations listed: Washington DC; Reston, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; Tampa, FL; St. Louis MO and Huntsville, AL
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
  • Proven experience at least 3+ years in Software/Data Engineering.

Preferred:

• Analyze IT system flows, data usage and work processes, and investigate problem areas
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, and improve performance
• Design, develop, and modify software using scientific analysis and mathematical models
• Apply concepts, develop, test, maintain, and support high-performance software and web-based applications
• Troubleshoot software and web problems and provide solutions using the latest technologies
• Work with management and information technologists to determine specifications
• Leverage a variety of technologies, techniques, and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create software and web application elements, including user interface features, algorithms, animation, special effects, databases, and e-business applications
• Write and review software and IT documentation
