Job Purpose
The Assistant Vice President, Client Management provides leadership to the Denial Management Department’s managers and their teams, including on-going process review, recommendations for efficiencies, staff supervision, and monitoring of operations to ensure efficient functioning of day-to-day business processes and resources. The AVP will drive efficiencies and monitor KPIs to ensure monthly metrics are met or exceeded. Recommend additions to staff and/or reallocation of current staff to ensure client needs are being addressed. Experience and judgment will inform operational planning and achievement of goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Establish protocols
• Fully understand the internal processes of the department
• Stay up to date on trends
• Meets revenue cycle performance goals and metrics
• Improve performance, outcomes and maximize denied claims
• Identify and communicate system problems
• Attend all client meetings
• Stay abreast of changing regulations
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory standards
• Plan and structure the department workflow and staffing
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to department managers and supervisors
• Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
• Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration required
• Proven work experience as an Assistant Vice President or similar role
• Management experience in workflow
• Solid ability to analyze, interpret and present data in meaningful ways
• Advanced IT skills
• At least 10 years experience
