The Enterprise Sourcing (ES) team has been established to support the corporate and segment functions’ Sourcing & procurement requirements. In addition, the Enterprise Sourcing team is responsible for supporting the business Segments in developing and driving Category Management strategies for Design & Construction, Facility Operations, Marketing & Media, Production/Production Tech, Professional Services and Supply Chain categories.
What You Will Do
As the Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Design & Construction you will provide strategic sourcing oversight of Design & Construction category spanning across Disney Corporate, Entertainment and ESPN. Through partnering with leaders and teams, this role formulates and tracks business priorities and requirements aligning with a broader category to generate value from supplier initiatives. Maintain a good understanding and upstream involvement of capital plans and supplier opportunities. Be responsible for handling a large number of related suppliers, their contracts, spend data, and being the lead sourcing person on projects. Come be part of this dynamic team!
Responsibilities:
- Relies on experience and judgment to achieve goals and embraces market intelligence and trending tools to drive category strategy and vision
- Nurtures client relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business needs and providing sourcing services, both strategic and tactical, that exceed their expectations
- Supports cross-functional teams through full life-cycle sourcing projects including leading workshops, project planning & management, analysis & strategy, supplier evaluation & selection, negotiation, and ongoing supplier relationship management
- Leads Requests for Proposals (RFPs) supporting client requirements to identify the best supplier options for design and planning, general contracting, building maintenance and upgrades, and ongoing operational services
- Aligns category resources globally to support client requirements across geographies and leverage consolidation of vendors, process and technology standardization
- Builds and delivers compelling quantitative analyses, defines gaps and areas for improvement, and solution-focused presentations that influence key decision-makers
- Fosters a collaborative environment among client and with other supporting teams (e.g., Legal, Finance, Segment-specific Sourcing teams, etc.), enabling category roadmaps
- Mentors less-experienced staff and drives internal capability development in order to improve project alliances and supplier contracts rolling up into the categories
- Leads 1+ direct reports that support the Design & Construction/Facility category
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ Years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing
- 3+ Years experience developing and implementing category plans and sourcing for Design & Construction
- Advanced negotiation skills and understanding of contract deal terms
- Supporting Senior Design, Construction executives in developing and implementing sourcing strategies
- Professional presence, presentation and engagement
- Design & Construction Category Sourcing knowledge and experience in sub-categories such as general contracting and facility operations
- Able to demonstrate Strong knowledge of Category Management framework (analysis, strategy, implementation, measurement) and proven experience in creating category strategies
- Demonstrate the ability to exceed the demands of various internal stakeholders across multiple business units and regions
- Demonstrate the ability to work strategically and develop strong business cases for change
- Ability to perform detailed quantitative analysis in MS Excel
- Strong project management experience
- Outstanding communication skills
- Customer service orientation and client-centered focus
Preferred Qualifications
- Internal/external business consulting experience desired
- Willingness to travel (position may require up to 10% travel)
- Experience in Strategic Sourcing in a Media & Entertainment environment
