Professor in Cancer Prevention and Control is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to manage and coordinate large scale research studies in oral health and cancer prevention. We are seeking a licensed dental hygienist to perform oral examinations to obtain clinical data and collect oral samples as outlined in IRB-approved protocols. Performs head, neck, & oral exams to obtain findings that relate to oral health, oral hygiene, and oral complications from cancer treatment (e.g., oral candidiasis and oral mucositis), and screen for signs and symptoms of oral cancer.Along with excellent dental hygienist skills, the candidate must have experience with conducting research, working with RedCap databases, Access, and Excel. The candidate must be experienced with obtaining participant consent, obtaining information from the HIMS, developing standard operating protocols for research, and IRB submissions. Must also have completed CITI (Collaborative Institution Training Initiative) training certification in the ethics of research with human subjects.
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceCertification Requirement
1. Current certification by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP); or
2. Current certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA); or
3. Other comparable research-related certifications recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as appropriate for this title.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time clinical research, healthcare or other related experience; or
2. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time clinical research, healthcare or other related experience, including successful completion of a Clinical Research Coordinator traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park); or
3. Associate’s degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time clinical research, healthcare or other related experience; or
4. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and six (6) years of full-time clinical research, healthcare or other related experience, including successful completion of a Clinical Research Coordinator traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park); or
5. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and seven (7) years of full-time clinical research, healthcare or other related experience.
NOTE:
1. Incumbents must obtain and maintain certification through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) or from other comparable research-related certifications recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as appropriate for this title within one (1) year of appointment as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and Certification as a Dental Hygienist by the National Board of Dental Hygiene Education and Experience, with current License to practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the State of New York.
CITI Certification (Collaborative Institution Training Initiative).
Experience working with inputting data into RedCap research databases, Access, and Excel.
Experience consenting participants to research protocols.
Experience recruiting participants for research studies.
Experience providing reports for research purposes.
