What you'll do

• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform, Python, and GitHub Actions to manage Kubernetes
• Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades and implementing best practices
• Document solutions, architectural patterns, and best practices around the Kubernetes environment
• Work with internal IT teams (Risk, Security, Compliance) to implement security policies on Kubernetes clusters
• Implement observability solutions on Kubernetes and develop alerting and monitoring
• Tune cluster performance
• Set up and manage the networking plumbing for Kubernetes
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes issues related to resources deployed on the cluster
• Collaborate with internal application teams to best utilize Kubernetes
• 24/7 on-call rotation supporting business-critical applications and systems

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 5 years of working experience as a technology professional
• 2+ years of platform engineering experience
• 2+ years of Kubernetes experience
• A strong understanding of DevOps philosophy and best practices

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Azure or Kubernetes technical certifications, such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification
• 2+ years of Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service(AKS) with deep understanding of container orchestration and distributed system concepts
• 2+ years of experience implementing infrastructure as code

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Experience keeping production environments operating at peak performance on the cloud and in containers
• 2+ years of experience managing production Kubernetes infrastructure with exposure to the use of cloud vendor Kubernetes solutions such as AKS
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and configuration as code built and deployment using CI/CD best practices. Working experience with GitHub/GitHub Actions and ArgoCD are preferred
• Extensive experience automating system tasks and infrastructure using Python and Terraform
• Experience with Service Mesh such as Istio, Kuma, and Control Plane such as Rancher
• Experience with Observability technologies and optimizing monitoring using technologies such as Prometheus, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Datadog
• Knowledge of Linux OS, network, and Azure PaaS solutions
