JOB SUMMARY:
The Surveillance Officer will be responsible for understanding and responding to internal guests needs. They will communicate in a friendly, respectful and understandable manner. Politely give consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answer when unsure.
KEY JOBFUNCTIONS:
- Uses outlined service behaviors when encountering guests.
- Meets expected service delivery times as defined by department’s service standards or as required by receiver of service or goods.
- Cooperate with employees within the department as well as other departments.
- Speaks positively about the company, co-workers and guests.
- Maintains close-watch surveillance on all casino table games, simulcast and slot machine activity through a monitoring system.
- Responds to casino activity and utilizes necessary equipment to identify, record and document illegal and unusual activities occurring in the casino, slot machines, slot booths and cage areas.
- Must be knowledgeable of the Casino Control Act and its attendant regulations.
- Employees will sign an acknowledgement of regulatory requirements prior to being employed in the Surveillance Department
- Represents the casino in litigation as required.
- Able to act as a Leader when Shift Supervisor is absent.
- Assis tin training employees and achieve goals set by the Surveillance Supervisor.
- Able to coordinate a team and meet expectations in busy situations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years surveillance department employment or equivalent investigation/gaming experience required.
- Knowledge of Casino games preferred.
- Candidate subjects to testing prior to hiring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a thorough understanding of all surveillance activities necessary for a secure casino operation.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written skills are essential.
- Skilled position requires a high degree of professional and personnel integrity.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Leadership experience preferred.
WORKENVIRONMENT:
- Able to be alert in a high-risk environment; follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes; concentrate on routine work details and organize and maintain system of records.
- Able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to develop knowledge of advantage play, cheat tactics, casino procedures, and have knowledge tested through regular written and practical exams.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Able to speak, read and understand English.
- Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
- Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.
- Ability to tolerate area’s containing secondary smoke.
- Must be able to lift above the head occasionally.
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $25.00 Per Hour
