This role is based in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a hybrid work arrangement - individuals may be required to work some days in the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland while working the other days from home.

Organizational Expectations:

As a financial analyst senior or financial specialist, you will provide analytical and project support for the Bank’s finance function. You will collect and analyze data, develop management information systems and technology solutions, and coordinate projects across a broad range of business functions. You will be responsible for complex activities associated with financial planning, performance and risk management, financial and operational reporting and analysis, and work directly with functional management and/or Treasury. You will also provide functional and technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

General Responsibilities:

  • Working independently, manages and/or conducts projects related to department operational improvements, staffing needs, and/or procedure/policy review and update.

  • Develops recommendations and makes presentations to management and department staff. Educates others on new procedures/policies.

  • May provide counsel and recommendation on budgeting and forecasting needs and/or financial, accounting and cost accounting principles, policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to delegate tasks to others on the team, providing guidance and ensuring accurate completion of each task. Provides complex financial analysis in support of the Bank's and/or Treasury’s operational and strategic goals.

  • Research market/industry practices. Collects and analyzes data or information, draws appropriate conclusions. Presents results in written reports or through oral presentations using visual aids.

  • Designs management information reports, tools, and systems.

  • Leads or completes ad-hoc projects and/or assignments and may review work prepared by others.

  • Coordinates business requirements and process changes for automated systems.

  • Develops training plans and materials for department staff. Provides guidance on reporting and financial requirements for Treasury investments, as appropriate.

  • Monitors quality measures, performance metrics, and department budgets; identifies and predicts trends.

  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of core business systems, application and tools; suggests and assists with changes.

  • Compiles, analyzes and interprets data; builds financial models that provide accurate and timely information; communicates conclusions and recommends a course of action.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Experience:

  • Financial Analyst Senior: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience

  • Financial Specialist: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Financial regulations, procedures, and practices (e.g, Accounting, FRS cost accounting, FAM, FRAM, CPIC, GAAP)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and other business related applications.

  • Ability to perform independent research

  • Project management, including organization, planning, and execution
