Job Description
The Role
The Senior Director, Strategic Finance and Corporate Planning is a critical leadership role responsible for company-wide strategic planning, including the ongoing development and coordination of all annual and long-term financial plans for ServiceNow. The role will also be responsible for supporting mergers and acquisitions related activities from a finance perspective (analysis, diligence, execution, etc)
Reporting to the VP, Corporate Finance, this person will lead a business-critical team providing financial visibility and business insights to Servicenow leadership, and enable a cross functional connected planning process for the company in collaboration with Corporate Strategy and line of business leadership.
What You Get to Do in This Role
- Manage the company-wide annual budget and long range planning processes to provide reliable, metric-based, and internally consistent plans which drive resource allocations to deliver our multi-year financial targets and margins
- Lead a team to coordinate and drive long-range financial planning and annual budgeting process including target setting and tracking
- Manage, inspire, and develop a high-performing team that collaborates with existing organizations including but not limited to Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Line of Business Strategic Finance, Corp Strategic Finance, and Finance leadership
- Partner with the VP of Corporate Finance, SVP of Strategic Finance, and CFO to develop solutions and execute against all aspects of global finance strategies, initiatives, and key investments
- Partner with the Finance teams to lead continuous improvement initiatives for key financial systems, infrastructure, and reports
- Drive automation and improve existing planning and reporting processes
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 15+ years of experience within the Finance function or with relevant experience in strategy/management consulting, investment banking, or corporate finance with a focus in software preferred
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Significant Experience driving long-range financial planning and annual budgeting processes including individual responsibilities for the strategy and execution of dedicated planning cycles
- Strategic mindsight with demonstrated ability to articulate high-level plans while also having an orientation to action and driving detailed execution plans.
- Deep understanding of the company’s strategic objectives and execution plans
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives to tactical execution connected and measured through planning processes
- Highly analytical, fact driven, process orientated, but comfortable challenging the status quo and setting new strategic/operational direction
- Experience supporting Enterprise Planning Processes (planning calendar, cross functional alignment, communication, etc.)
- Deep understanding of corporate finance, financial accounting, and financial analysis
- Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions analysis and execution
