Role Summary

Provide knowledge and expertise to the teams on electrical matters to support the electronics systems embedded into the products ar developed in time, at the right costs and right quality, and meeting the customer specifications. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Aligns on a regular base with the local EE managers the needs to support research, design of physical electrical hardware for new designs in compliance with automotive standards and customer specifications from concept development to production launch.
  • Works with Product Development team to ensure best practices and lessons learned are being followed.
  • Works with Manufacturing engineers to establish lamp level and component level DFM requirements.
  • Works with purchasing and sales on new program content for costing.
  • Develops Design best practices for Electronic assemblies and applies to active programs
  • Delivers lessons learned input and ensures read across for all programs for the reported issues.
  • Align Design Strategies with New Technology and VA/VE initiatives which are in process.
  • Provide on-going feedback to DL and EE as it relates to performance against expectations.
  • Supports critical design reviews. Align product designs with manufacturing capabilities and escalate if alignment to Customer expectations is not present.
  • Utilizes knowledge of current procedures, regulations, customer and industry requirements and best practices to successfully create or assist in defining product and test specifications in order to obtain, operational cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality and manufacturing feasibility.

  • Provides training to the organization to ensure all EE designers are current in best practices and automotive standards.

  • Consults with engineering personnel/management to provide recommendations for the improvement of existing products and processes

  • Writes and publish design standards when necessary
  • Ensures that Best Practices, Design Standards and Lessons Learned Databases are kept up to date and are used on every project in development

  • Works as one global team, having a mindset of working collaboratively towards standards and processes applied over multiple regions

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Technical background with an Electrical Engineering Degree, Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10/years in the Automotive Sector (Preferable LIGHTING Products)
  • Experience in an Integrated Product Development Team.
  • High knowledge of definition of measurement protocol for testing and validating single or multi-PCBs system
  • Design and development of multi-PCBs paneling
  • Design and development of single or multi-PCBs system
  • Electronic design, programming and simulation HW/SW
  • Electronic for the automotive sector
  • Electronic laboratory (facilities, their use, implementation)
  • Electronic, micro-Electronic, Electrotechnic and Measurements
  • H&S and Environmental management system standards and policies
  • Implementation of PCBs routing and components positioning
  • Management of single or multi-PCBs EMC system
  • Management of single or multi-PCBs system (thermal issues, simulation and minimization)
  • Properties of main electronic components (analogue and digital, active and passive, lighting devices and sources)
  • Quality procedures
  • Tools for setting set-up and used for DUT
  • Knowledge of Electronic Manufacturing
  • Knowledge and execution experience as it relates Test requirements and customer SOR's
