Summary

The Nuclear Assurance Internal Audit Team Lead  leads multi-discipline and/or multi-utility Internal/External audit teams, both domestically and internationally, providing technical, programmatic, organizational guidance and leadership ensuring and effective evaluation of the organizational and/or supplier.
Independently performs source surveillances of manufacturing and special project activities in support of maintenance, operation or upgrades of Palo Verde.

Prepares audit reports for evaluation/use and regularly interfaces with: regulatory agencies, nuclear utilities, nuclear suppliers and/or Palo Verde senior, executive and line management.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and eight (8) years nuclear power plant experience of which five (5) years shall be in Quality Assurance or an Associates Degree and ten (10) years nuclear power plant experience; of which six (6) years shall be in Quality Assurance or high school/GED and twelve (12) years nuclear power plant experience of which seven (7) years shall be in Quality Assurance.
Permanently assigned to the Nuclear Assurance Audits Department and qualified to ANSI N45.2.23 as an Audit Project Leader with five (5) years of Audit Team Lead, project management or lead assessor experience.

Must have extensive knowledge of the codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.

This is a condition of employment at PVGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Leads multi-discipline/multi-utility audit teams in evaluating the organization's and/or supplier's QA Program.

2) Performs audits in accordance with ANSI N45.2.12 and maintain qualifications in accordance with ANSI N45.2.23.

3) Independently perform source surveillances of manufacturing and special project activities.

4) Independently review results of audits and source surveillances and provide accurate, complete and timely reports to regulatory agencies, nuclear utilities, nuclear suppliers and Palo Verde senior, executive and line management.

5) Develop and implement audit plans/checklists, source surveillances and coordinate organizational and/or supplier support.

6) Interface with station and supplier management, up to and including officers of the company to assess, categorize, evaluate and report conditions adverse to quality.

7) Ensure timely follow-up including evaluations of root cause and effectiveness of corrective actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.

8) Provide technical, programmatic and organizational direction/guidance to supplier and/or organizational personnel.
