Field Reliability and Testing Engineer

Hayden AI is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Field Reliability and Testing Engineer to join our team. As a Field Reliability and Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring/debugging devices in the field as well as conducting software testing in the field or in-house. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in debugging and testing complex systems. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and debug devices in staging/production environments, and identify potential issues to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Conduct software testing in the lab or in the field, verify functionality, and identify and report any anomalies or defects.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, device software, and algorithm development, to drive continuous improvements in device reliability and performance.
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and adherence to project timelines.
  • Perform root cause analysis on field failures, identify trends, and provide recommendations for design and process improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze field data, identify potential issues or improvement areas, and propose corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results, procedures, and any issues encountered during testing.

Summary of Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar). A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex systems, preferably in a field environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software interactions, ability to debug at both the hardware and software levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Experience in software testing, test plan development, and test execution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in testing and debugging processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Familiarity with the Linux terminal environment is a plus.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical techniques for reliability analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of field service operations and experience in supporting field technicians is a plus.

Target Salary Range: 

  • $90,000 - $130,000
