The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Disruptive Computing & Networking (DC&N) software capability is seeking a Compiler Software Engineer (Senior/Subject Matter Expert) in El Segundo, CA, Annapolis Junction, MD, Fairfax, VA, or Huntington Beach, CA.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Our software products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. Position Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of new compiler features and optimizations.
• Lead activities for analyzing and improving the performance of existing compilers and tools.
• Lead a group of compiler software engineers to integrate compilers into various software applications.
• Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
• Provides technical leadership for compiler projects and leads software supplier management activities
• Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis
• Develop and maintain documentation for compiler architecture and functionality.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software compilers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve compiler-related issues and bugs.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in compiler technology and programming languages.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• 5+ years of experience with managing or leading people or teams
• 5+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development
• 3+ years of experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, Jira, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
• 3+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with build tools (examples: Gnu Compilers, Cygwin, Intel, ARM, etc.)
• Experience with application performance analysis and monitoring
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 9+ years experience in compiler design and implementation.
• 9+ years of experience with parallel and distributed computing.
• 5+ years experience with compiler frameworks (e.g., LLVM, GCC) and programming language theory.
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
• Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc).
Typical Education/Experience:
Senior (Level 4):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' rel
