Public Equity Assistant/Portfolio Manager

This hybrid role will require Tuesday through Thursday in-office in Stevens Point, WI. Mondays and Fridays can be worked from home if you choose. This role is not eligible for a fully remote schedule.
What You'll Do
As a Public Equity Portfolio Manager, you will:
- Evaluate individual stocks for inclusion in public equity portfolios using a fundamental approach that includes individual company business model, financial and sector analyses, as well as engaging in quarterly earnings calls and interviewing senior management teams.
- Monitor day-to-day general market conditions, in addition to economic data.
- Contribute to the construction and management of public equity portfolios that meet Insurance Company performance objectives.
- Supervise and monitor current stock holdings on a continual basis.
- Make timely decisions concerning the buying and selling of public equity positions and explain in a concise manner why specific actions were taken.
Additionally, you will:
- Summarize timely knowledge of various market and sector trends to present to the entire Investment Department.
- Formulate a macro-economic outlook to incorporate into the overall organizational planning.
- Evaluate new investment technologies, strategies and vehicles for application in the Sentry investment portfolios.
- Perform other job-related duties as needed.
What it Takes
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required, Master’s degree preferred
- Chartered Financial Analyst designation or progress towards the designation highly desired.
- Knowledge of all aspects of investment markets.
- Applicable background in fundamental public equity analysis.
- Strong human relations and communication skills.
- Analytical skills

Public Equity Assistant also requires:
- Minimum 2 years related work experience
- Background in macroeconomics helpful
- Ability to work under time constraints
Portfolio Manager also requires:
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Strong background in macroeconomics, financial and statistical analysis, and portfolio management theory
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the job
