This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region 3 Pharmacy in Pharmacy Services.
As a member of the pharmacy services team, our mission is to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications for all individuals under our care. We provide high-quality pharmaceutical care, promoting health and wellness, and supporting the overall mission of the Florida Department of Corrections. Our goal is to enhance patient outcomes through collaboration, education, and adherence to best practices in pharmacy.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Support the Pharmacist in Action: Dive into the exciting world of pharmaceuticals by assisting the Pharmacist with acquiring, preparing, and distributing medications in the outpatient area. You'll be at the heart of the action, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Master the Digital Pharmacy System: Become a pro at typing prescription data into our advanced computerized system. Your accuracy and speed will keep our pharmacy operations efficient and effective.
- Hands-On Pharmacy Operations: Help maintain a well-stocked pharmacy by filling prescription orders and issuing them to inmates. Your role is crucial in ensuring everyone gets the medications they need.
- Train and Lead: Take charge by training other Department of Corrections staff on using the pharmacy computer program and implementing Health Service Bulletins. Your leadership will enhance the overall efficiency of our pharmacy operations.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance: Regularly inspect pharmaceutical inventory for expired items, handle returns with proper paperwork, and communicate with healthcare professionals to verify prescription accuracy. Your attention to detail will keep our pharmacy compliant and up-to-date.

REQUIREMENTS:
- All licensure in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and the Florida Department of Health.
