Senior GL Accountant

<p>Verisk is seeking a driven Senior GL Accountant to join the Corporate Finance team based in Krakow. In this role, you will work alongside the Verisk Corporate Accounting teams in the US and globally to provide high-quality customer service to the Verisk business units and management team.</p> <ul><li>Prepare complex journal entries,</li><li>Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior staff members,</li><li>Review and upload in Verisk’s accounting system monthly journal entries received from Business Units, </li><li>Actively participate in the monthly closing process, including expense and balance sheet account analysis, providing explanation for balance fluctuations and proposing correcting actions when needed, </li><li>Lead the investigation and resolution of discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner,</li><li>Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and transactions,</li><li>Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the general ledger according to US GAAP, Corporate Accounting policies, internal SOX control and procedures,</li><li>Ensure a timely and accurate generation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders,</li><li>Liaise with Business Units to complete various SOX controls,</li><li>Maintain appropriate documentation for all responsible SOX controls,</li><li>Support the audit process by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions,</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and auditing departments,</li><li>Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the general ledger function,</li><li>Participate in work transition from various locations and lead special projects and initiatives as needed,</li><li>Identify areas for process improvement; create and maintain standard operating procedures.</li></ul> <ul><li>5+ years of work experience in general ledger area,</li><li>Master’s degree in accounting or another relevant field,</li><li>Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing),</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel),</li><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills (oral and written),</li><li>Excellent planning and organizational skills,</li><li>Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently,</li><li>Detail oriented, meticulous and extremely diligent,</li><li>Continuous improvement mindset, curiosity and resilience,</li><li>Team player with focus on common goals,</li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.</li></ul><p> </p><p>#LI-PM1</p><p>#LI-Hybrid</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p><span>For over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
